We are counting the hours until we depart for a one month stay in Nepal. Our bags are packed and standing by the door waiting for our 4:30 am taxi pickup. Nepal will be beautiful and green at this time of year after the monsoon rains. The rice harvest and festival times are approaching. Because of the agreeable weather, this is high tourist season. Even more than the beauty of the country, we look forward to the rich friendships we have with people there. We are glad that our faithful ministry partners , Dave and Terry Monaghan, will be with us.

ManBahadur (Manny) Tamang, formerly one of Foresight’s sponsored students, who now has a job in a bank and also provides administrative support for Foresight in Nepal, is due to have a kidney transplant in a Kathmandu hospital on September 22nd. ManBahadur’s father has graciously offered one of his kidneys to his son. Prayers for the success of this surgery are most welcomed!!  See his story at www.gofundme.com/manbahadur.

Two  seminars entitled “Healing the Wounds of Trauma, Equipping Workshop” were recently held in Kathmandu at Bethel AOG church. They were sponsored by Foresight as part of their earthquake relief  initiatives, and conducted by representatives from the American Bible Society. About 70 pastors and leaders from the Assembly Of God denomination were in attendance, including 21 women. Most were from outside Kathmandu. They expressed eagerness to learn the material as they acknowledged that their church people were still exhibiting signs of Post Traumatic Stress since the earthquakes.
